I'm John Adams. I Have A Great Home Business."They say that 'The proof is in the pudding'. Pudding doesn't make itself. It requires action." ABOUT ME AND MY HOME BUSINESS
My Internet home business story stretches back into the summer of 2003. That’s when it occurred to me that I could use my computer for something other than playing games. I became more involved on the Internet and, like you, I noticed these claims that people were making serious money from home by using their computer for a few hours every day. I couldn’t resist. I started exploring all of the options. My friends and acquaintances will be the first to tell you have I’m always ready to take the plunge into something new. At that time, I knew absolutely NOTHING about running an online business. I barely knew anything about the Internet! When I bought my computer, I was paying for a toy. I bought it to relax and to play a few games. I didn’t see it as a business tool. I didn’t imagine using it to make money. I think that’s one reason why I became interested when I saw those bold claims about making money from home. It was a new idea to me. Something different. Something fascinating. After doing some homework, I dove headfirst into eBay. I discovered that I could make real money with the online auction site. I experienced some astonishing success, too. I was running a home business! But I had a problem. You see, I already had a good job. In fact, I loved my job. It was amazing. If I wanted to make the “big bucks” on eBay, I was going to be forced to dedicate most, if not all, of my spare time to the project. I didn’t want to abandon my job, but I wasn’t interested in giving up the time I spent enjoying life and relaxing. I toned it down. I spent less time with eBay and more time with my computer games, to tell you the truth. Still fascinated by those claims of substantial home earnings, I continued to do my homework on the Internet marketing front. I increased my knowledge base considerably, but I wasn’t taking action at that point. I figured I’d get involved “sometime in the future”. On September 7, 2005, my life changed in the blink of an eye. I sustained a terrible injury that threatened my life. That horrible moment hammered home a valuable lesson, though, we spend too much of our precious time dreaming of something better “sometime in the future” instead of taking immediate action. I quickly realized that I should’ve continued moving forward with my growing dream of building a home business. So that’s exactly what I did. I became a full-blooded Internet freak. I learned as much as I could about all of the options out there in search of finding the perfect, honest home business plan. Confined to bed or a wheelchair, I was able to focus my efforts on learning the online business ropes. I’d spent two years as a tire-kicker who thought he’d get around to giving a home business a try “sometime in the future”. My new situation inspired me to actually get started within two months. In November of 2005, I took the plunge. My first website, hosted by Sitesell.com, went live. And things kept going from there. “Honest-HomeBusiness.com was my first website. I was a small-timer with no experience and limited skills when I launched it. Today, it sits in the top 2% of all websites. How in the hell did that happen?” I’d like to take full credit for all of my success. It would be nice to pretend that I devised THE route to home business success single-handedly. I’m willing to take credit for my work and efforts, but I can’t claim that I did it alone. One of the things I learned was that everyone needs help and guidance when they’re getting started. If you can “hitch your wagon to a star,” you’ll make money online. I hitched my home business wagon to Ken Evoy. I learned from him and replicated his techniques. I used his tool, Site Build It!, to construct my website. I followed his recommendations to the letter. Today, I have a variety of websites stretching across many different niches. I’m still learning and I’m continuing to improve the quality of my business and my life. Part of that has been making a commitment to share my story and advice with others. I’m helping other people start online home businesses. I’m trying to let anyone who’ll listen know that starting a successful and honest home business doesn’t require a miracle or special skills. I know that because I didn’t “luck into” my success and I certainly didn’t have a special skill set that made things easy. I had two things: a proven blueprint provided by my mentor and his experiences and a willingness to take action. A plan and action. That’s the only secret recipe for business success.
